Valencia"We will never forget you". More than 150 people gathered on August 20 to remember Miguel, the 27-year-old young man murdered on Sant Joan beach in Alicante. Alicante's City Hall square briefly became a peaceful gathering place dedicated to showcasing Miguel's reality and his personality.

With dedications, music, and a protest, they wanted to send him a farewell without setting aside the ongoing fight, demanding that the facts be clarified and that "the possible existence of a hate crime motivated by homophobia be investigated to the end".

With the support of Equality

The LGTBIQ+ entity Alicante Entiende already reported that Miguel was murdered after hooking up with a 22-year-old young man, who responded with the blows that killed him. The Ministry of Equality has also joined this request to take into account the aggravating factor of homophobia, asking the Prosecutor's Office to consider studying the case as a hate crime.

From the association they affirm that "we cannot look the other way in the face of violence against LGTBI people. Sexual orientation can never be a motive to assault, hate, or kill".

"For Miguel. For his memory. For the truth. For justice", they concluded.
