BarcelonaAt night, in Barcelona's Eixample, a young boy approaches a man and asks for a light. A companion of the young boy is filming. Comments can be heard such as: "Give it to him, give it to him." Suddenly, the boy slaps the man hard in the face and, just as suddenly, four friends of the boy appear and beat him, also kicking him.
This scene is repeated with a young boy walking through the Eixample or with a couple sitting on a bench. They are random assaults, which the perpetrators film and then post on social media like Instagram, becoming viral. In some of the videos, you can see how after the assault they quickly get into a car and leave the scene of the crime.
Call for victims
The Mossos d'Esquadra are already investigating who is behind these assaults. In fact, the Catalan police are calling on those who have suffered an assault of this type to file a complaint at the Eixample police station or contact them via social media.
The investigators, according to police sources, have already managed to locate one of the victims, who has filed a complaint. For the moment, the assailants have not been located, but in the videos, some of them can be seen, and the Mossos are reviewing security cameras to get the car's license plate. The police are working with the hypothesis that these are completely gratuitous and random assaults, with no other motivation than to record them and post them on social media.
