Shocking fire at the Port of Barcelona: more than half a dozen freight trailers burn
It is not recorded that there are affected people and the smoke is visible from different points of the city
BarcelonaThe Barcelona Firefighters are working this Sunday at noon to extinguish a fire affecting a truck parked in the Pont d’Europa area, where it was waiting to board. There have been no affected persons. The emergency corps has deployed 10 units to put out the flames, which have created a large column of smoke visible from different points of the city. According to port sources, the fire has affected some port tractors at the terminal and the goods that have burned are not dangerous.
The Barcelona Fire Department received a notification at 13:17 for a fire in three merchandise containers in the port area, near the Europe Bridge. 10 units have been dispatched, consisting of 3 tanks, 3 water pump trucks, 1 ambulance, 1 ladder truck, 2 vehicles with support equipment, and 2 command vehicles. The fire is already in the extinguishment phase.
