BarcelonaNew chapter of incidents in Cercanías, and it is already expected that this Friday will not be an easy day either. Renfe has announced that this Friday it will do by road the sections of San Vicente de Calders in Cunit and San Vicente de Calders in El Vendrell on the R2 Sur and R4 lines. All this in the framework of the constant problems due to the incidents in the Roda de Berà tunnel and on the same day that there has been an error in the public address system for four hours in all stations.

In the case of the R2 Sur, tomorrow the first two trains of the day will start in Cunit, the one that was due to leave Sant Vicenç at 5.18 am to arrive in Barcelona, at the França station, at 6.42 am, and the one that had to do at 5.40 am to arrive in Granollers. On the R4, the first two trains will start in El Vendrell.

As for Roda de Berà, this Thursday there was the first daily meeting between the Generalitat, Adif, Renfe and the Ministry of Transport to deal with this conflict and evaluate the infrastructure, and the first agreement was also reached: the Adif teams that will check the track material and their own will be doubled during the night.

In statements to ACN, the councillor, Sílvia Paneque, has hoped that this measure will help to return to normality. However, delays have been noticed again this Thursday, the fourth day after the reestablishment of the service in the Roda de Berà tunnel. According to Cercanías, the train between Tortosa and Barcelona suffered delays of up to 50 minutes.

Breakdowns in the public address system

While the Tarragona front is being resolved, another one opened on Thursday that affected all of Catalonia: the public address system and the teleindicators of all Cercanías stations were out of service this morning for "technical reasons". "Pay attention to the front and side panels of the trains," the operator asked on social networks. The breakdown, reported shortly before eight in the morning, has not affected the frequency of trains, but it has affected the information that users receive. It has taken 4 hours to resolve.

Company sources consulted by ARA explained that the breakdown has made it impossible to broadcast, either on screens or by public address, the pre-recorded information on the schedules and the passage of trains. Both channels, on the other hand, could broadcast this information live, either from the station itself or from the Cercanías control centre.

The same sources explained that the company's IT technicians have been working since early morning to resolve the incident.

After the completion of the most important phase of the works on the Mediterranean Corridor, which lasted five months, there have been continuous delays in the service to the south of Catalonia in recent days. Paneque has also asked to appear before the Parliament to report on the situation.
