Barcelona will deploy 500 cameras in "sensitive" crime areas.

Barcelona City Council will deploy up to 500 surveillance cameras throughout the city, especially in "highly sensitive areas." According to Barcelona's Deputy Mayor for Security, Albert Batlle, there are currently around 140, but the goal is to increase surveillance "where there is the greatest criminal activity."
