Minister Pablo Bustinduy stated that this decision demonstrates that "no company is above the law or consumers." Following the TSJM's ruling, the platform will have to pay the fine. imposed By the end of 2025, Consum had identified violations in more than 65,100 tourist apartment listings, which were removed in the middle of last year. Specifically, the ministry detected "unfair commercial practices" such as publishing listings without a license or with numbers that did not correspond to the numbering used by the registries. It also noted that the platform disseminated listings without accurate information about the legal status of the hosts.

The two coalition partners have been at odds all week after Pedro Sánchez will announce a 100% personal income tax bonus The measure, which would require landlords not to raise rents, has infuriated Yolanda Díaz's party. The second vice president of the government quickly labeled it a "grave error" and complained that the Spanish president announced it the day before a scheduled meeting to discuss housing. But Sánchez stood firm on the law, and Sumar has repeatedly made it clear that it will not support it. "We will never accept it; it is unfair, it is not sensible, and it will not work," declared the Minister of Social Rights, Pablo Bustinduy, at a press conference on Friday. "As it stands, it will not have our support. Of course, we will have to negotiate," Sumar sources told ARA. Sources at the Ministry of Housing explained to this newspaper that they are indeed negotiating with both their coalition partner and their parliamentary allies, and indicated that meetings have taken place this week. Sources close to Minister Isabel Rodríguez are confident that an agreement will be reached in which everyone feels "comfortable," and they hope the deafening noise of the controversy will subside: "We all want the same thing."

The Ministry of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs, and Agenda 2030 identified a total of 65,122 listings on the online tourist accommodation platform that violate regulations. The fine imposed by the department headed by Pablo Bustinduy is final after all administrative appeals were exhausted, and the California-based company must pay the penalty, although it can appeal in court. The resolution, made public this Monday, also includes two additional sanctions that require the platform to rectify these violations by removing the illegal content, as it had already announced in the initial fine.

In total, these six unlicensed operators have received very serious fines exceeding €30 million. Furthermore, the ministry has imposed another 26 serious penalties totaling €3 million for various violations of gambling regulations, as reported by the ministry itself in a statement on Tuesday. This latter group includes companies such as Betfair, 888 Online, and Codere. For example, 888 Online will have to pay a €250,000 fine for failing to meet the technical requirements for its software and communication systems and for using non-approved technical systems. Beatya Online has been fined €300,000 for a similar situation, and Betfair will have to pay €100,000 for a penalty related to non-compliance with player protection and responsible gambling regulations. Electraworks Ceuta has been fined €512,000 for allowing access to gambling for prohibited individuals, using unauthorized or unapproved technical systems, and for non-compliance with software technical requirements. This last reason also affects Codere, which has received a penalty of €17,500. €30 million among six companies

The operators whose websites have been shut down for operating without a license are XYZ Entertainment, Moonrail Limited, EOD Code SRL, Samaki, Lone Rock Holdings, and Novaforge.
