It shows the consequences of vicarious violence and sexist violence on children, who are often unrecognized victims. And it does so through Carmela, a 12-year-old girl, who must periodically go to a meeting point to see her father, whom she idolizes. Little by little, however, the girl – and with her, the viewer – will discover who he really is and his way of exercising psychological violence.

"I was able to prove my innocence," José Ángel González told reporters as he left the courthouse. González, who had been the Deputy Director of Operations (DAO) of the Spanish police since August 2018—resigning when he was summoned to testify and the complaint became public—accused the officer of "malice, meanness, and hatred," and reproached him for having "ruined my personal, family, and professional life." The complainant's lawyer, Jorge Piedrafita, recounted that during his testimony before the judge, the former DAO accused the victim of having "stunted a trap" and called her "envious, hysterical, and crazy." Legal sources added to ARA that, regarding the alleged incident, González justified his actions by saying that while she was telling him no, he was making gestures indicating yes. He also maintained that they only kissed and hugged, and asserted that she consented to what they were doing and that he never ordered her to do anything. Furthermore, he framed the sexual encounter as a "game."

The deceased are a 78-year-old woman, a 58-year-old woman, and a 23-year-old woman. Four other people were injured, including an 11-year-old boy and a seven-year-old girl. Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska confirmed that this is another case of gender-based violence and stated that both the killer, who turned himself in to the police after the three murders, and his ex-partner, Dolores, 58, had been in the system (which protects victims of domestic violence) but for relationships with other people. The aggressor's case occurred in 2007 and the woman's in 2008, meaning both were currently inactive.

They looked at me with horror, with disgust, with guilt, as if I were the worst person in the world. I felt panicked because I thought I had done something wrong, but I didn't understand what wrong I had done.” This is how Keilyn Andrea González, a young Honduran woman, explains how she felt after suffering sexual abuse at age 11. She forgot it, she blocked it out. It wasn't until many years later that the sexual violence resurfaced, and with it, the need for redress. A need she transformed into a public cry: “I wasn't to blame for what happened to me.”

Sources from the Civil Guard, cited by the same agency, explained that the crime occurred around 1:00 a.m. at a home in the town of Cabo Blanco. Neighbors alerted the Civil Guard to a disturbance at the residence. When officers arrived, they found the boy's body and the woman with injuries to her limbs. The attacker, 35, was carrying a large machete, which he used to stab the child and his mother, and was shot dead after resisting arrest. In fact, he even injured a Civil Guard officer, though the officer's condition is not life-threatening.

The man held the victim captive and assaulted her for months until she managed to escape and report the situation. The victim is a 38-year-old Moroccan woman who has injuries on various parts of her body as a result of the assaults she allegedly suffered over several months. The arrested man, the victim's partner, is a Spanish national accused of gender-based violence and unlawful detention. In addition to the victim's partner, the police also arrested three other men as alleged accomplices, as they were reportedly aware of the kidnapping and failed to report it.

Vladimir Putin's conservative revolution, the defense of traditional values, and the alliance with the Russian Orthodox Church have led to the decriminalization of gender-based violence. Now, in addition, pressure from the authorities has forced the closure of Nasiliu.net (No to Violence), the country's leading organization for women victims of abuse.

The contract with the joint venture of Vodafone and Securitas, which currently manages these devices, will end in early May, and this Tuesday the Council of Ministers authorized the hiring of a new service. The Minister of Equality, Ana Redondo, explained that the new devices will have longer battery life and will be attached to the ankle, as is already the case with all those used in Catalan prisons. The new contract will have an initial duration of 36 months and an initial budget of 71 million euros. This figure could reach 111 million euros if the two annual extensions that are possible are activated. This new contract will also increase the number of devices in stock, allowing for replacements in "record time, a maximum of 24 hours," for those experiencing any malfunction.

According to a statement released by the Catalan police, they received a call at 7:00 PM from someone reporting an argument inside the premises. When officers arrived, they found the deceased woman with signs of violence. The premises are owned by an investment fund and have been occupied since October 2023, according to municipal sources. The L'Hospitalet City Council has an open urban planning enforcement case and has maintained police pressure over the years, identifying people entering and leaving the property. At one point, as many as 40 people lived there, but now there are far fewer.

Some cases had passed the statute of limitations, but two continued: one is awaiting trial, scheduled for December 2026; the second is in the Ninth Section of the Barcelona Provincial Court, awaiting a trial date. This second case involves a complaint of sexual assault against a minor between 2010 and 2014, when the girl was 14 years old and he was approaching 40. He was her teacher and the director of her school. As time has passed, and while the legal proceedings have progressed slowly, Deprius has resumed his activities and is once again conducting the Armonía Alta Segarra Choir and Symphony Orchestra. This past Sunday, January 18, he rented the Pineda de Mar Auditorium, and victims and feminist groups have expressed their discontent and rejection, which they have conveyed to the Maresme Town Council.

She was beaten by her 81-year-old husband. The man has been arrested and is currently in pretrial detention, accused of murder. According to sources close to the investigation, there are no prior reports of domestic violence filed by the victim against the man, a very common situation: only one in three women murdered by their partner or ex-partner had filed a report of gender-based violence, according to the latest report published by the Judiciary. As a result of the beating, the victim had been hospitalized in Badajoz since last Friday and died yesterday afternoon in the same hospital. "We will not normalize this horror and we will continue to dedicate all state resources, legislative, educational... to protect women and eradicate this painful and outrageous violence," said the government spokesperson, Elma Saiz, at the weekly press conference following the council of ministers.

At 1:40 p.m., the Catalan police were notified that a woman's body had been found. at her home. Officers traveled to the scene with paramedics from the Medical Emergency System (SEM), who confirmed the woman's death. At the same address, the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) located a 37-year-old man, the victim's son, who was arrested for his alleged involvement in the events. Agents from the DIC (Criminal Investigation Division) of the Camp de Tarragona Police Region are investigating the woman's death as a case of domestic violence. The investigation has been sealed. Eleven femicides

If the police theory is confirmed, the murder in El Vendrell will be the eleventh femicide in Catalonia since the beginning of the year, comprising ten women murdered due to gender-based violence and one related femicide. Since official data collection began in 2012, there have been 158 femicides in Catalonia, of which 148 were women and 10 were children and young people murdered in the context of gender-based violence. The number of children orphaned by gender-based violence is 11 in 2025 and more than one hundred in the last decade.

This is an "excessive" amount of time, emphasizes David Bondia, the Barcelona Ombudsman, in his report analyzing the workings of the specialized service system for supporting female survivors. The report, presented this Tuesday at the institution's headquarters, concludes that the services are not adequately sized to meet the needs of the victims.steady increase in sexual assaults recorded every year "This increase in complaints has overwhelmed the system in the city of Barcelona," Bondia admitted during her speech, in which she called for more resources and more staff to cope. But, in addition, this system is better prepared—or better suited—to assist recent victims of violence than to assist the majority of users: those who seek help months or even years after the assault occurred. The distrust in the system, fear of the aggressor The fear of not being believed, the normalization of aggression, or shame are factors that explain why Less than 10% of survivors report the assaults
