BarcelonaThe election result of the Alternative for Germany has shaken Europe. The party led by Alice Weidel has become the second most voted party with 20.8% of the votes. its best result since World War IIFar from being a local or isolated phenomenon, Alternative for Germany has deployed its influence on the international stage with the support of Elon Musk and the vice president of the United States, JD Vance. But the German far-right party also has its alliances in Spain and Catalonia, with Vox and the Aliança Catalana. Both received an invitation from Weidel to be at his headquarters in Berlin this Sunday to follow the elections, which the coalition won. Christian Democrats of the CDU-CSU of Friedrich Merz.

Silvia Orriols' party has already congratulated Alternative for Germany for the results and, in a message to X, has made public that it sent a delegation to the electoral headquarters. "From Aliança Catalana we continue working to bring the Catalan political reality everywhere. Now, with the second most important force in the country in Europe," they emphasize. Orriols' party had previously met with the German extreme right and has had several approaches with other European ultra parties. The proximity is such that, as explained by ARA, Alianza has even considered becoming part of Patriots for Europe, the reference space of the most reactionary (and pro-Putin) European far right which is now chaired by Santiago Abascal. If Alianza were to run in the European elections, this would mean that they would end up sharing a group with Vox.

Vox MEP Jorge Buxadé was also at the headquarters of Alternative for Germany. In a video posted on the same network, he celebrated the fact that the German people have put an end to the "cordon sanitaire" around Weidel's party. "There are no more cordon sanitaires for the party that defends its interests, prosperity, security and the fight against illegal immigration in Germany," he said. Vox has given its explicit support to Alternative for Germany and is using the German conservatives' refusal to make a pact with the far right to wear down the PP, assuring that, when the time comes, they too will choose to ally themselves with the PSOE. The PP not only distances itself from any pact with Pedro Sánchez, but, until now, it is precisely with Vox that it has closed government pacts.

Vox is seeking a platform for projection in its alliances with the international far right. Indeed, the leader of Vox, Santiago Abascal, showed harmony this weekend in Washington with the president of the United States, Donald Trump, at the summit of American conservatives. He went as president of Patriots for Europe and there he met Musk and the Argentine president, Javier Milei, among others. Abascal railed against immigration and Islam, and praised the tandem of Trump and Vance again: "The world is now more like how we dreamed it would be a year ago," he said. The leader of Vox saw his loyalty rewarded with some words from the American president in his speech: "Thank you, Santiago. Thank you very much for your work," he said. Going a step further, Musk even predicts that Abascal will win the next elections.
