The threat to Pedro Sánchez: 'whoever can speak, let them speak'
MadridThe sentence of José Luis Ábalos is an exemplary conviction. Not only for the penalty of up to 24 years in prison imposed on the former minister and former right-hand man of Pedro Sánchez, but also for the reward that Víctor Aldama takes away. The corrupt businessman in the case will not go to prison. The Supreme Court imposes four years of deprivation of liberty that he can avoid thanks, among other things, to community work. It should be recalled that this is already the second benefit Aldama obtains for allegedly collaborating with justice and talking about PSOE cases: he already got out of preventive detention to help in another case (that of hydrocarbons) and to provide information that could help with the ongoing investigations around the Koldo case.
The Supreme Court's sentence incorporates, however, a warning to navigators for other judicial cases affecting the PSOE. It states: "The rule of law must reward with the instruments provided for in the legislation those relevant behaviors that affect the discovery and accreditation of crimes of the gravity for the democratic system." To continue: "It is in the State's interest that the investigation be facilitated by the voluntary contributions of the perpetrator. This simplifies the restoration of legal order by the one who has disturbed it. It saves efforts in the investigation, while reinforcing the evidence of the prosecution's claim."
The translation was done quickly, from the doors of the Supreme Court, by Aldama's spokesperson and Hazte Oír. They have directly urged Julio Martínez Martínez, the alleged straw man of José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, to cooperate with justice. That is, to speak and accuse the former president with what he has allegedly seen. Hazte Oír has explicitly added that the soft sentence for Aldama is bad news for all the pending cases that the PSOE has, as it is an incentive for other defendants who are not from the party (or have been abandoned by the party) to collaborate with alleged information with the judiciary. Read here Julio Martínez Martínez, Leire Díez or even Santos Cerdán. The objective of the framework of popular accusations that extends to all these cases, from Hazte Oír to the PP, including Vox and Manos Limpias, is to reach the 'one', with or without foundation. Not in vain is the complaint of the PSOE and Sumar, who have openly complained that the corrupter is being rewarded.
A new version of what José María Aznar said and which is marking the legislature: it is a whoever can speak, let them speak from the manual.
