BarcelonaAliança Catalana was able to hold the floral offering at the Fossar de les Moreres normally last year. About thirty militants from Arran tried to access the historic site to boycott the event, but the Mossos d'Esquadra prevented them from doing so. This Diada, however, the waters are not so calm. The pro-independence left, together with other anti-fascist and social groups, have marked this day on their agenda, and everything suggests that hundreds of people will try to boycott the event. Aliança has also organized eight buses that will pick up militants and supporters from all over the country to make a new demonstration of mobilizing strength and fill the Fossar, as they did last year.

In the hours leading up to it, the atmosphere is already heating up on both sides. While the organizers of the counter-demonstration have warned that they will not let Aliança set foot in the Fossar, the leader of the Islamophobic formation, Sílvia Orriols, has tried to calm tempers, but has warned that they will not stand idly by: "If they come to attack us, we will pin them to the ground until the Mossos come and identify them," she said in a video she posted on X. Orriols made these statements after it emerged that a group of historic members of the Boixos Nois, linked to the xenophobic and now-defunct Unitat Nacional Catalana, had offered to provide security and ensure the event could take place normally, although the party has distanced itself from them.

"I want to calm tempers because they say that Aliança has surrounded itself with extremists to look for a fight," denounced Orriols, who sees it as "a trap" by the far-left so that there is a "pitched battle at the Fossar" and they are accused of these violent acts. "We are people of common sense and order," she wanted to make clear, although she later said that they will try to detain the protesters who want to prevent the event. The pro-independence left has called for an event at the Fossar at five in the afternoon, half an hour before the Aliança event, with the intention of occupying the space and preventing the pro-independence far-right from being able to enter.

In parallel, Orriols has opened a new front of controversy against Lluís Llach. She did so after a podcast close to the pro-independence left, L'Arrabassada, recovered some statements by Llach, from when he was president of the ANC, saying he regretted that "Catalanism has fallen into the trap of fascism and racism". "What Lluís Llach should do is give explanations for what he was doing in Senegal. Because perhaps the racist white man who takes advantage of the vulnerable is him", Orriols blurted out, despite the fact that there is no accusation or complaint against the singer-songwriter, who cooperates with various humanitarian projects in Senegal.
