Stampede in the leadership of the ANC
A dozen critical secretaries leave the leadership following Lluís Llach's statute reform.
BarcelonaThe ANC is bleeding again. Most of the remaining members of the critical sector announced this Monday that they are leaving the secretariat, according to ARA. Their departure comes after last week's The partners will validate the reform of the statutes which was championed by the leadership led by Lluís Llach to avoid the decision-making deadlock that this current exercised. Not in vain, the reform has eliminated the requirement of two-thirds for electing an organic position, allows the return of former secretaries, and prevents the entity from presenting an electoral battle. These approaches were rejected by critics because they considered that they make the Assembly lose its transversal nature and search for consensus.
After a resounding defeat with the support of 75% of the members for the statutory reform at the Ordinary General Assembly (AGO), some of the most representative figures of this sector have decided to step aside and have sent individual resignation letters to the rest of the members of the secretariat. This is the case of Albert Llorenç, Roser Campí, Àngels Digon, Chus Castillo, Roger Civera, David Miñana, Francisco Sabater, Núria Macià, and Joan Mollà. the ideologue of the civic listThey won't be the last to resign, according to sources within this movement who confirmed to ARA, noting that in recent days other leaders such as Iolanda Alcázar and Daniel Lucas, who are also critical, have also resigned.
To these losses we must add the departure of some of the visible faces of the new independence party that was presented a month ago, Standing for Independence, which takes over from the frustrated civic list that was defeated by the members by the narrowest of margins.
The strength that the critics had back then, however, is now a thing of the past. For now, only a dozen of the thirty secretaries aligned with the former leadership headed by Dolors Feliu remain. Together, who, despite not being part of the critical community, have always been very reluctant to accept the decisions of the Llach leadership. It's a matter of time, however, before the former deputy also packs his bags after being removed from the leadership—despite being the second most voted candidate by the members—and several meetings in the final weeks of the Assembly lunch.
Another casualty from the Llach sector
The standing committee was now entirely controlled by the faction of the ANC president, Lluís Llach, who from the outset opted to fill all the leadership positions to avoid disagreements. "All or nothing," declared members of this faction on the eve of the secretariat elections. And the outcome was exactly this. Beyond the four organizational positions that were chosen last year withLlach as president and Noemí Zafra as vice president, the other nine coordinators are secretaries who positioned themselves against the civic list. before last week's statute reform, one of the members of the standing committee has left. Elisenda Romeu, the Mobilization Coordinator. She served as spokesperson for the Assembly's Repressed Persons sector during the previous term and has resigned, as she confirmed to ARA, citing personal reasons. Critics, however, point to disagreements with the leadership, although she denies this and emphasizes that she will continue as national secretary and work on her committee.
