Now, despite Prime Minister Salvador Illa's winks to these circles, is there currently a transfer of votes between Junts and the PSC? According to the latest Barometer from the Center for Opinion Studies, there are currently no significant voter transfers between these two political parties. Nor do those who vote for Carles Puigdemont's party express that the Socialists are their second preference (it's Esquerra), nor their third (which is not voting for any of them), nor their fourth (it's Aliança Catalana). Rather, the Socialists appear as the fifth-most preferred voting option for those who have Junts as their party of reference. Nor is this the case for PSC voters, where Junts is the sixth-most preferred option. However, Salvador Illa does receive approval from those who sympathize with Junts, just as he is approved by voters of Esquerra, the Comuns, and also the PP.
Salvador Illa expands his signings from the Convergent world
The nationalist caucuses are concentrated in the department headed by Miquel Sàmper.

BarcelonaSince the election campaign Salvador Illa has made an effort to capture a moderate, Catalanist voter profile that had opted for CiU when the defunct nationalist federation existed. Furthermore, the president has continued with this same dynamic when filling the positions in the undergovernment incorporating profiles from the world that had been CiU.
Without going any further, this Tuesday he replaced the controversial delegate of Perpignan, Christopher Person, with Albert Piñeira, mayor of Puigcerdà for CiU and then for PDECat and Junts from 2011 to 2023, when he decided not to repeat. In fact, until now Piñeira was a member of the Junts party, which may be incompatible with being part of Isla's government. This Tuesday, officially, Junts assured that no case has been opened against him, But sources within the party admitted that they would end up doing so if the situation continues.
But Piñeira is not an isolated case in the transfer market. David Bonvehí, former general coordinator of the PDECat (Catalan Workers' Party), is currently director general of cooperatives and the social economy, while Pere Macias, former Minister of Public Works under Jordi Pujol, is also now the commissioner for the transfer of the Cercanías (Commuter Rail). Thanks to his technical training, in fact, Macias has worked for all political parties.
The Catalan government also recently opted for former Convergent (Convergent) leader Ferran Falcó as coordinator of Media City, the hub that aims to be a European benchmark in the audiovisual field. Falcó was the visible face of CiU in Badalona and was also the general secretary of the Territory Department during the Process, from 2016 to 2021, first under Josep Rull, current Speaker of the Catalan Parliament, and then under Damià Calvet. Falcó had previously been appointed general manager by the Socialist Consorci del Besòs party.
Rally in the Sámper department
In any case, most of these signings are concentrated in the department of Sàmper, a former member of the Junts leadership and a former member of Laura Borràs's entourage. The former PDECat deputy Lluís Font, a specialist in the world of education, has been recruited to become the new director of the Consortium for Continuing Education in Catalonia. Font was part of the Education Department of the Generalitat from 2011 to 2012, and from 2016 to 2017, he was the president of the School Council. Also on Sàmper's team is Emili Alberich, a member of the minister's cabinet, who had always been close to Rull.
Among the lesser-known names is lawyer Mar Giné, director of territorial services for Tarragona in the Department of Business, who ran in 2023 in Tarragona as a candidate for Ara Pacte Local, a brand linked to PDECat. Also standing out in the territorial services of the same department, but in Central Catalonia, is Ivet Castaño, former regional president of the PDECat in Bages and a territorial position in the Presidency during Meritxell Budó's term. Also in the territorial services of Terres de l'Ebre is Antonio Suárez, current mayor of Ribarroja, a former PDECat member who ran for Junts in the last elections.
