The appearance in the Ábalos case was accepted at the end of July last year, while that of the dana was accepted at the end of March 2025. The former Valencian deputy Mamen Peris, a former candidate for the territory, is part of the legal team handling the defense in both cases, but in the Ábalos plot it is Carrizosa who accompanies her, after his return to law after abandoning politics, as this newspaper explained. Of the case affecting the socialists, Ciudadanos is not part of the section that falls under the National Court, but it is part of the one that depends on the Supreme Court – initially, it was a single case, but in September it was bifurcated.

Carrizosa continues to participate as any member in the party, and now more so, with this legal assignment, which takes him back to his beginnings when he put his experience as a lawyer at the service of the party. Ciudadanos, however, has to face the legal costs that these two cases entail, in addition to the bail that they have had to deposit for being popular prosecution: in the case of Valencia, six thousand euros. But while they remain alive, albeit on life support, they have opted for the courts with the warning that "the aspiration is to return".
