BarcelonaThe court of penitentiary surveillance has agreed to maintain, for the time being, the open prison regime of the political prisoners of Lledoners, as reported by the Efe agency and confirmed by the ARA. Oriol Junqueras, Raül Romeva, Jordi Turull, Josep Rull, Joaquim Forn, Jordi Sànchez and Jordi Cuixart will be able to continue with the regime of semi-freedom until the merits of the appeal presented by the Prosecutor's Office is resolved. It is the same decision that the court on which the ex-president of the Parliament Carme Forcadell depends, and the former minister Dolors Bassa, took on Tuesday.

In July the Court of penitentiary surveillance suspended the seven prisoners of Lledoners' open prison regime, but not Bassa's and Forcadell's. This time, however, the judge who has taken the decision is not the same as in summer, who, despite everything, endorsed the open prison regime of the pro-independence leaders. All the pro-independence prisoners were given this regime again on January 28, the day before the election campaign began. The Prosecutor's Office appealed this decision the day after the elections and asked for its precautionary suspension.

In the case of Bassa and Forcadell, the judge makes a nuance with respect to what he decided the first time. He says that when the appeal on the merits is resolved, even if it is in favour of the open regime of the two pro-independence leaders, the regime of semi-freedom would be suspended if the Prosecutor's Office lodges another appeal.
