Ayuso is discharged from the hospital after being transferred by ambulance from the Almudena Hospital.
The Madrid president has suffered from "severe gastroenteritis" and on Saturday she cancelled her attendance at the Andalusian PP congress for health reasons
MadridThe president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, was discharged from the hospital this Sunday after being taken by ambulance from the Almudena Cathedral. The leader of the Madrid PP suffered from "severe gastroenteritis," according to sources from the Community of Madrid, for which she received medical attention at the Jiménez Díaz University Hospital Foundation in Madrid. Earlier that day, when she left the cathedral, these same sources reported that she was suffering from a "mild indisposition." This same indisposition prevented her from traveling to Seville on Saturday, where she was scheduled to participate in the Andalusian PP congress. She was to speak alongside the PP's general secretary, Miguel Tellado, and the president of Murcia, Fernando López Miras. Finally, due to health reasons, she was unable to accompany the president of Andalusia, Juanma Moreno, on the first day of the congress, where he was re-elected leader of the Andalusian PP with 99.9% of the vote.
This Sunday, Ayuso traveled to Madrid's cathedral to attend the mass commemorating the feast day of the city's patron saint, celebrated on November 9th. Beforehand, she made a statement to the media in which she explained what she would ask of the Virgin Mary: "I want prosperity for all, for us to grow together and not lose our way. And for us to care for the most vulnerable, especially those who are alone, for whatever reason," she stated. Ayuso emphasized how the capital celebrates the Feast of Our Lady of Almudena, a festival that, she said, highlights "what unites" the people of Madrid: "It's not just our shared bonds but also our faith." Alongside the mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, the Popular Party leader greeted several supporters at the doors of the cathedral and some members of the clergy before entering for Mass. There, she began to feel unwell: her blood pressure dropped, and paramedics from the SAMUR emergency medical service decided it was best for her to go to the hospital by ambulance. Despite the incident, and according to sources from the Community of Madrid, the president of the Community of Madrid is expected to resume her public schedule on Tuesday. Monday is a public holiday in Madrid, the Feast of Our Lady of Almudena.
