Infanta Sofía moves to Lisbon
She begins her university education, which will also take her to Paris and Berlin.
BarcelonaInfanta Sofía completed her exclusive training at UWC Atlantic College in Wales this year and has already decided where she will spend her university years. Her first stop will be Lisbon, as a student at Forward College, an institution that offers international studies at 18,500 euros per year, which are offered at various locations across Europe. The Portuguese capital will host her starting in September, but she will then move to Paris and complete her degree in Berlin.
In Lisbon, the daughter of Felipe and Letizia will stay in a complex called Xior Benfica, which has single rooms with private bathrooms, some with balconies, and costs ranging from 690 to 1,090 euros per month, including tuition. The total expected cost at this private school is, therefore, around 30,000 euros per course, which her parents will cover from the subsidy the royal family receives from the general state budget. During your stay, you must observe some very strict rules: parties are not allowed on campus, nor are students allowed to receive overnight visitors. Smoking is also prohibited in the buildings, and pets are not allowed. Beyond the residence, Forward College classrooms are spread between the Chiado and Bairro Alto neighborhoods.
Unlike her sister and future queen Leonor, Sofia will not receive military training. Initially, the young woman was inclined to study art, but a conversation with her parents convinced her that, given her status as a member of the royal family, political science and international relations were more appropriate for her.
