BarcelonaAfter months of rumors and tabloid headlines about the breakdown in relations between the Beckhams and their eldest son, Brooklyn, the boy has finally spoken out. reels He took to Instagram to give his side of the story. "My parents have been trying to ruin my relationship since before the wedding, and they haven't stopped," he claims. The 26-year-old accuses them of being manipulative and constantly belittling his partner. "The narrative that my wife controls me is the opposite. My parents have controlled me my whole life," he says, adding that now that he's distanced himself, his anxiety has disappeared and he's found "peace and relief" from not living under the pressure of "image, the press, and manipulation."

Brooklyn began dating actress Nicola Peltz in 2020, and they married in 2022. He claims that his family, especially his mother, tried to undermine the relationship in many ways, including inviting his ex-girlfriends to make them uncomfortable. He says that Victoria Beckham refused to design his wedding dress at the last minute. According to Brooklyn, his mother told him it was "evil" to seat his and his girlfriend's nannies at the head table "because neither of them had their husbands," he argues, while their respective parents were seated at adjacent tables. A little-known detail is that his parents tried to "bribe" him into giving up the rights to his name weeks before the wedding, an agreement that included the wedding date. When he refused, it had consequences for his pay: "I haven't been treated the same since," says the young man, who has worked as a model, cook, and photographer. He also describes a specific incident where his mother sabotaged their first dance as a married couple, which they had rehearsed for weeks. While the young couple wanted to dance to a romantic song, Victoria had Marc Anthony call her and the groom up on stage to dance with her. "She danced inappropriately on top of me in front of everyone. I've never felt so uncomfortable and humiliated in my entire life," he says. That's why he says he and Peltz renewed their wedding vows, to have happy memories and not ones filled with anguish and shame.

The boy accuses them of lying to maintain the facade of a "perfect family," of portraying relationships that aren't authentic. He says he's received countless direct and indirect attacks, through the press, at his parents' behest. "Even my brothers were sent to attack me on social media before they out of the blue blocked me last summer," he says. Here he's referring to his brother Cruz, who claimed Brooklyn had blocked them. "The Beckham brand comes first," he says. "Family love is measured by the posts you make on social media or how quickly you drop everything to play the part at a family event," he asserts. He also laments that after attending countless promotional events for his parents, the support wasn't reciprocated. Brooklyn also details how they traveled to London for a week for David Beckham's birthday to be with him, but he refused to see them unless they attended his party, "with hundreds of guests and cameras everywhere." "When she agreed to see me, it was on the condition that Nicola wasn't invited. It was a slap in the face," he explains. The young man claims he has tried to be discreet, but the manipulations of his parents and their team, who control the narrative in the press, have left him no way out: "I don't want to reconcile with my family. They don't control me. I'm defending myself for the first time in my life."
