Ariana Grande moves away from the stages due to the "constant public scrutiny" she has received
The singer leaves the musical 'Sunday in the park with George', which she was to star in London next year
BarcelonaNorth American singer Ariana Grande has decided to step away from the spotlight for a season. When the tour The Eternal Sunshine Tour ends – the last concert will be on September 1st in London – the artist will temporarily withdraw from the public sphere. Grande is therefore abandoning her next project: the musical Sunday in the park with George, by Stephen Sondheim, which she was due to star in next year at the Barbican Centre in London. The decision was announced by a representative of the singer to the magazines People and Deadline, where she explained that she will "take a step back in terms of visibility".
According to the representative, Grande "hopes to finish the tour on a high note" and will then take a break from work and public appearances because she has experienced "constant and endless public scrutiny". The company of Sunday in the park with George has confirmed, via network X, that Grande will not be part of the musical. In a message on the social network, it said that the artist "has decided to withdraw from the project" and showed her "all understanding and support".
The look at physical appearance
For some time now, Grande has been at the center of media attention and has received numerous comments, many of which refer to her physical appearance. Through social media, users have questioned her health status and, given the singer's change in appearance, have speculated that she suffers from an eating disorder. These speculations have intensified since Grande released her latest album, Petal, just three days ago, following the increased emphasis on her public presence for the album's promotion and the release of one of her music videos.
Petal is the eighth album by Ariana Grande and marks the singer's return to the music world after several film projects. Among these projects is the diptych formed by Wicked (2024) and Wicked: Part 2 (2025), two musical films set in the universe of The Wizard of Oz that Grande starred in with Cynthia Erivo. The singer has also filmed the movie Focker in-law alongside Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro, and it is scheduled to be released at the end of this year.
