The event brings together almost 1,000 attendees at the Maritime Museum of Barcelona, and the money raised will go to the SJD Pediatric Cancer Center Barcelona.

BarcelonaThe first agreements are being discussed Last Christmas Wham! and the nearly 1,000 attendees occupy the 90 tables that fill the main hall of the Museu Marítim de Barcelona. Just a few minutes later, the light dims and illuminated dancers stroll among the tables while a choir sings thePirates' Anthem from the musical Sea and skyWith this melody so fitting for the setting, the 4th Almendro Origen Charity Christmas Dinner began with a clear objective: to raise funds for a charitable cause. This year, the organization raised €80,500 for the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital, specifically for the SJD Pediatric Cancer Center Barcelona project. The dinner centered around a story that connects the hospital with the Catalan food chain. The protagonist is Aina, daughter of an Almendro Origen employee, who was diagnosed with cancer at age 14. Both she and her family are familiar with the work carried out by the professionals at Sant Joan de Déu Hospital, and although the SJD Pediatric Cancer Center Barcelona wasn't yet a reality when she was diagnosed, she recognizes the center as a valuable resource for children currently battling the disease.

The gala was organized by journalist and speaker Bibiana Ballbè and actor and presenter Quim Masferrer, who returned after hosting the 2024 Charity Christmas Dinner. Guests enjoyed a meal specially designed for the occasion by chefs Jubany, Martina Puigvert, Jordi Cruz, Lucas Crusellas, Carlota Claver, Hideki Matsuhisa, and Oriol Balaguer. The chefs readily attended the event, and together they presented a 16-course menu of Catalan cuisine with influences from other gastronomy. €80,500 was donated to the children of San Juan de Dios.

The SJD Pediatric Cancer Center Barcelona project, to which the €80,500 raised will be allocated, is part of the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital and is already a leading center for cancer research and treatment in children and young adults. Each year, the center receives 400 new patients who undergo comprehensive treatment, including outpatient care, hospitalization, therapies, and research. The SJD Pediatric Cancer Center Barcelona is the first center in Spain to offer this comprehensive approach, making it a leading center for childhood cancer treatment internationally.
