"Poor little brother of yours," my mother always said to me, even though we were twins. How many women haven't subjected little girls to merciless judgment while weeping for the suffering of those poor creatures who, because of their external genitalia, were the recipients of surprising compassion? I'm not saying there aren't mothers who mistreat boys, but there are far too many who indulge them, pamper them, and overprotect them to pathological extremes. It starts in the domestic sphere, sparing them the simplest daily tasks, and continues by exempting them from taking on responsibilities, thus turning them into eternal children. What a poisoned inheritance, that of the mother-in-law, who has left us with so many men to raise; what a disservice those who raised their offspring as if they were young masters with servants have done us. And what a way to harm them, too, that they will no longer find a world with women willing to serve them for free.

The surveys They say that boys are increasingly right-wing, with a rather sexist right wing, while girls are increasingly left-wing and feminist. In the case of the latter, it makes sense and is logical: they embrace the only proposal that can guarantee them not only rights but also survival, since being born with ovaries carries specific risks. And boys? Why are they becoming far-right and more sexist? In a podcast on the topic by Marta García Aller, with the help of political scientist Pablo Simón, first-year university students from Carlos III University offer explanations for their own reaction: it's because we've had feminism courses at school, it's because we're young and we rebel against the hegemonic order, and we perceive feminism as part of it. Poor things, one day a feminist woman came and explained to them that they should treat their female classmates well, that they couldn't invade their privacy without the woman's permission, that pornography was violence, and that violence is usually perpetrated by individuals of their own sex. And instead of reflecting on this situation as sons of mothers, as professional colleagues of women, they didn't listen attentively to the terrible injustice they were being lectured about. Instead, they spontaneously decided to rebel because that's what they're supposed to do as young people. This hasn't happened with other subjects; they haven't rebelled against the law of gravity or morphosyntactic analysis, or even against all the ideas they're taught in philosophy classes. No, but with equality, they can afford to question what they're taught. Why is that? If the problem is feminist education (again, sexism is the feminists' fault), the solution will be to let them be and let them continue as always, with their traditional privileges. Curiously, they don't rebel against male power, which is the true hegemony. They don't confront the men who exploit their privileges in the various dimensions of their lives. And analysts present this resistance to accepting equality as a natural and reasonable resistance. The fact that boys receive a misogynistic education outside of school hours, that the leisure products they consume massively reproduce stereotypes and mechanisms of discrimination against us, doesn't seem to be taken into account. And, finally, that they are exposed in YouTubers And other influential figures who parrot the far-right's rhetoric seem to have no effect. Well, let's understand them, they tell us, it's just that girls are now more educated, more prepared than boys, and of course, this, logically, must lead to resentment. And to backlash. Poor, insecure creatures who will suddenly have to work just as hard as girls do to enjoy the privileged positions that were previously given to them by virtue of their sex.
