The University of Lleida (UdL), a prestigious public university dating back to 1297, combines a long academic tradition with a young and dynamic structure committed to quality training and research, as well as internationalization. It is the oldest university in Catalonia and, therefore, part of the now-defunct Crown of Aragon. It is one of the oldest universities in Europe and is part of the Iberus International Campus of Excellence, along with the universities of Navarra, Zaragoza, and La Rioja.
Currently, the UdL has four university campuses in the city of Lleida and one in Igualada. In total, it offers 37 bachelor's degrees, 15 double degrees, and 37 master's degrees to more than 11,500 students, with 54 established research groups pivoting across five research institutes in areas such as biomedicine, energy and sustainability, agri-food, and social sciences. Its seven campuses are complemented by affiliated centers of the National Institute of Physical Education of Catalonia and the University School of Labor Relations in Lleida, the Ostelea University School of Tourism, and EAE Business School. in Barcelona and the Next Higher Education Center in Madrid.
