LondonFifty minutes that will go down in history. Extraordinary scenes in the Oval Office of the White House, this Friday afternoon, during the meeting before the media between the presidents of the United States, Donald Trump, and of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, with the participation of Vice President JD Vance. Trump and his number 2, like two stalking thugs in a position of strength, facing a Zelensky who depends on their support and who, in addition, could not express himself in his own language.

We transcribe some of the most dramatic moments and the harshest words of Trump and Vance against Zelensky.

Donald Trump: "I'm not aligned with Putin, I'm not aligned with anybody. I'm aligned with the United States of America; and for the good of the world. I'm alienated from the world, and I want to see how this ends. I'm aligned with Europe. I want to see if we're done with this [ending the war]. I'm in the middle; I support Ukraine so much."

But soon the tone has been rising, after an intervention by Vice President Vance:

Volodymyr Zelensky: "First of all, during a war, everyone has problems. Even you. But there's a magnificent ocean [in between]. But you'll see in the future. And pray to God that you don't have a war…

At this point, Trump He interrupted him: "At this point you are not in a very good position. You are playing with the lives of millions of people, you are playing with the Third World War, you are playing with the Third World War. And what you are doing is very disrespectful to the country."

"Don't tell us what we should feel. We're trying to solve a problem. You're not in a position to dictate what we should feel. Right now, you're not in a very good position; you don't have any good cards, and you're starting to have problems."

JD Vance: “Do you think it is respectful to come to the Oval Office of the United States of America and attack the administration that is trying to prevent the destruction of your country? Have you said thank you once during the entire meeting? You went to Pennsylvania and campaigned for the opposition in October. Spare a few words of thanks for the States.”

When Vance argued for a diplomatic solution, Zelensky confronted him and asked what diplomacy he was talking about, reminding him that the Minsk Agreements Putin signed did not serve to stop Russian aggression against his country. “I think it is disrespectful for you to come to the Oval Office to try to question this in front of the American media,” Vance told him. “Right now you are forcing conscripts to go to the front because you have personnel problems.”

Donald Trump: "Your country is in serious trouble. No, no, no, you've talked a lot [Trump cuts off Zelensky's attempted intervention]. No, he's not winning. You have a wonderful opportunity to end this [the war]."

"[Putin] broke the ceasefire agreements [signed with Merkel and Macron after the annexation of Crimea and the invasion of Donbas] because Biden was not respected; Obama was not respected. [Putin] broke agreements with Obama and Bush, and maybe he broke them with Biden. He did. Maybe, maybe he did. I don't know what happened, but he didn't break them with me. He wants to make a deal. I don't know if he can make a deal. The problem is that I have empowered you to be tough, and I don't think you will be tough without the United States. Your people are very brave. But you will have to make a deal. Either you make a deal or we leave, and if you wear yourself out, you will fight to the end. I don't think he's handsome, but you'll fight to the end, even though you don't have any good cards. But once we sign this agreement, you'll be in a much better position."

Trump: "Here you go [Trump acts like a cocky man] and you say, 'I don't want a ceasefire. I don't want a ceasefire. I want this…' Look, if you could get a ceasefire right now, I would say, get it, because the bullets will stop whistling. Because we want to stop the war. But what I'm saying is that you...

Zelensky"I want a ceasefire with guarantees."

Trump: "[On Putin breaking the ceasefire] It wasn't with me, it was with a guy named Biden, who was not a smart person…"

"Okay, I think we've seen enough. This is going to be a great television show."
