BarcelonaThe good rapport between Manolo García and Quimi Portet has led to one of the highlights of the year: the return to the stage of El Útimo de la Fila. For now, it will be a tour, scheduled for 2026, with concerts in Fuengirola, Barcelona, Roquetas de Mar, Madrid, San Sebastián, A Coruña, Avilés, Seville, and Valencia. Tickets for the concerts will go on sale this Tuesday, April 29th. on the group's website.

García and Portet had already activated the group a couple of years ago to re-record some songs from El Último de Fila for the album Pyramidal disarray (2023). Previously, in 2016, they did together some tribute concerts to Los Burros and Los Rápidos in Barcelona and Madrid, where they also played pieces by El Último de la Fila.

Manolo García and Quimi Portet created El Último Fila after having been trying to make their way in the world of pop-rock for some time with bands like Kul de Mandril, Los Rápidos, and Los Burros. The duo's accumulated experience and lyrical and musical uniqueness came to fruition in 1985 with the album When poverty enters through the door, love jumps out the window, which included songs like Dear Milagros (a composition by Portet) and The crazy man on the street (Garcia's). The following year, Enemies of others' property, also released by the PDI record label, consolidated a truly unique proposal in the Spanish pop-rock scene. It was the album of songs like Insurrection and Far from the laws of men.

The artistic partnership between Manolo García and Quimi Portet continued until 1998, when they announced the dissolution of the group, three years after the release of the album The rebellion of the frogmen (1995)
