Founded in 1913 by the Barcelona Provincial Council, this center is a benchmark in teaching, creation, research, and preservation of performing arts heritage and is committed to pedagogical and artistic innovation.

Every year, more than 1,000 students pursue higher, professional, or advanced studies in dance, drama, or performing arts techniques. Now, at the Teaching Hall, you have the opportunity to learn in detail about the entire Institut del Teatre training program through three distinct stands.

University and Postgraduate Studies

If you want to pursue a university degree in the performing arts, visit Hall 1, Stand 562, where you'll find information about the Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático (ESAD), the Conservatorio Superior de Danza (CSD), and the postgraduate and master's programs.

At the Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático (ESAD), you can earn a Higher Diploma in Dramatic Arts (corresponding to the first cycle or degree within the European Higher Education Area) with specializations in Acting, Stage Design or Stage Direction, and Dramaturgy.

At the Conservatorio Superior de Danza (CSD), you can earn a Higher Diploma in Dance (corresponding to the first cycle or degree within the European Higher Education Area) with specializations in Choreography and Acting or Dance Pedagogy.

Regarding postgraduate and master's studies, the Institut del Teatre offers specialized postgraduate programs in Social Action, Live Arts and Contexts, and Stage and Digital Technology. And, together with the Autonomous University of Barcelona, it offers the Master's Degree in Theatre Studies (MUET).

Secondary and vocational education

If you're looking for secondary or vocational training, you'll find the stand of the School of Secondary and Artistic Education/Professional Dance Conservatory (EESA/CPD) in Hall 2, Stand 417. This school offers training that combines ESO (Compulsory Secondary Education) or Bachillerato (Baccalaureate) with a Professional Dance Degree, specializing in Classical, Contemporary, or Spanish Dance.

"TRANSITAR", online educational guidance resources

If you're still unsure about your academic and professional path, the Barcelona Provincial Council also offers an innovative tool to help you make informed decisions about your future. "TRANSITAR" is a bank of online guidance resources, designed specifically for guidance counselors, teachers, and educational professionals, but also accessible to students.

This digital space includes more than 100 materials—such as activities, videos, music, books, films, and illustrations—categorized by key topics and accessible through an intuitive search engine. Its objective is to offer a dynamic, constantly updated tool adapted to the needs of municipalities and educational centers in the province of Barcelona.

During the Education Fair, young people can visit the Barcelona Provincial Council stand (Hall 1, Stand 801) to learn about these resources and participate in various self-discovery activities related to academic and career guidance.

A collaborative project

"TRANSITAR" was developed in collaboration with professionals from various municipalities and educational centers to ensure that the materials are useful and adapted to the current situation in the region. Furthermore, thanks to a participatory process with students from the Pau Gargallo School in Badalona, a graphic character was created to accompany the resource bank.

With this new digital tool, educational and career guidance becomes more accessible and personalized than ever.
