The company's new show has some very funny moments, but the ending could be improved.

Calórica isn't going to change the world. Nor does it intend to. And deer don't bellow when you want them to, but when they want to. Calórica is an expert in ironic comedy that laughs at those looking for a unique experience to solve their marital problems. It's also funny at the theater people who at some point thought, following the poet's words ("poetry is a weapon loaded with the future"), that the stage was a tool for social transformation and political change.

Look where The deer's rut A distinguished group of theater professionals has gathered at a hotel in Vall Fosca for a symposium on theater as a tool for change, organized by a local cultural association. While the seasoned, elderly director of the Banc de Sabadell theater, a famous playwright, and a young, feminist actress argue, drink, and entertain themselves with karaoke, Pau and Maribel dodge relationship problems with sexual fantasies. Nearby, Jofre and Alberto plan a big real estate deal, and a lesbian hippie couple is looking for an ancient party in the region's forests. A collection of stereotypical characters serving up a comedy that's more critical in its statement than its performance.

A Peak of Fantastic Clowns

The first part of the show is a succession of humorous scenes almost like sitcom with a few stabs at the Catalan theatre world and a peak of fantastic clowns (Xavi Francés). In the second part, the play takes a somewhat forced turn towards the dark side with the blessing of Shakespeare's Puck until an ending that could be frankly improved.

Far from the acidic and heartbreaking gaze of Fairfly either The Bulgarian Editto, this bellow follows the line of superficial criticism of What do we talk about when we don't talk about this shit?, applied to the search for unique experiences to neutralize the emptiness and disdain of progress towards the territory. The deer's rut It has some very funny moments and will satisfy the company's many and well-deserved fans.
