The Chamber of Commerce earns 4 million and will sell its shares in Fira 2000.
The entity leaves losses behind and increases its net worth by 10%, to 41.3 million

BarcelonaPositive year. The Barcelona Chamber of Commerce closed the 2024 financial year with a positive result of €4 million, an amount that exceeds the anticipated budget and has allowed it to increase its net worth. This result, presented during the ordinary plenary session in April, also allows the Chamber's finances to be stabilized, currently chaired by Josep Santacreu, "and to overcome the losses recorded in previous years," as stated in a statement.
The plenary session also authorized the Chamber to sell its shares in Fira 2000 during this year, while maintaining its voting rights in the company, which soon plans to make structural changes to the Montjuïc trade fair site. This will allow the Chamber to maintain its role as the sole private player in the field of trade fair infrastructure, while focusing the financial resources obtained on its core business in the business world. This transaction is expected to close during the first half of the year.
In terms of results, the Chamber obtained revenues worth more than 29 million euros last year, 7.8% more than expected, from services, subsidies, and corporate contributions. The corporation's operating result (EBITDA) climbed to 4 million euros, a positive result that doubles the budgeted figure, as detailed in the financial balance sheet report.
With the surplus obtained, the Chamber's net worth has reached 41.3 million euros, 10% more than at the end of the previous year (2023). Likewise, the institution has managed to reduce its debt ratio, from 0.36 to 0.32. Bank debt remained at 3.1 million euros.
