BarcelonaThe Guardia Urbana has identified a taxi driver who intentionally rammed a motorcycle with two occupants in Barcelona on Wednesday afternoon. Municipal sources have confirmed that it is a worker of the taxi license holder and has reported the case to the Prosecutor's Office, which has to finish determining the crimes for which he will be investigated. The incident took place in the Travessera de Dalt with Granja street and the notice was received at 20.30 pm. A number of officers were sent to the scene of the incident, according to Barcelona City Council. The images recorded by other drivers show how the taxi driver causes the collision with the motorcycle and then flees.
In a video posted on Twitter by the Motoristes Barcelona collective, it can be seen how the taxi changes lanes at an accelerated pace and then makes a sharp turn that causes the collision with the motorcycle and causes the motorcyclist and the passenger behind him, aged 35 and 68, to fall. The taxi, in fact, manages to climb the median after the maneuver. As seen in the images, the driver of the vehicle does not stop when the motorcycle falls and continues on his way.
The Elite Taxi union has described the facts of "improper" and has ensured that a professional cannot act in this way "under any circumstances". "There is no excuse that can justify such a thing", he said in a statement. The union has announced that they would file a complaint to the competent body to remove his credentials and cannot return to driving.
