Peruvian fans of the Colombian singer were disappointed when they learned that she had been hospitalized in Lima and had to cancel her show at the National Stadium of Peru, scheduled for February 16 and 17. Shakira, who is immersed in the new tour Women don't cry anymore, which began in Brazil on February 11, announced through social media that he had "an abdominal condition" and that doctors advised him to cancel the concert.
According to the singer in a statement, on Saturday night she had to go to the emergency room because she had "an abdominal condition" and was already admitted. Shakira said she was "very sad" for not being able to perform and that both she and her team were working on a new date. The last time Shakira was currently in the country was in 2011, during the Lima Pop Festival, at the San Marcos Stadium.
After hearing the news, dozens of Peruvian fans - some of whom were heading to the concert - gathered outside the Lima clinic where she had been admitted to wish her a speedy recovery.
This Monday, after local media reported that she had been discharged, the Colombian singer thanked her fans for the affection she had received since she was admitted. "Thank you all for the messages of love. They give me so much strength. I love you with all my soul," she said on Instagram.
