This week the company's board of directors approved the dismissal of the current CEO of Telefónica, Ángel Vilá, and right-hand man of former president José María Álvarez-Pallete. Tous hires a general manager for the United States
Jewelry and accessories company Tous has hired Joseph Cavalcante as vice president and general manager for the United States, so this executive will lead the company's operations in this market. Cavalcante has two decades of experience in the luxury and jewelry sector and has led the expansion and transformation of brands such as Ippolita, Temple St. Clair and Gorjana, Tous explained in a statement.
With this addition, Tous seeks to strengthen itself in a market with "great potential" such as the United States and reinforce its international expansion.
Jon Garay, new financial manager of Almirall
Pharmaceutical company Almirall has appointed Jon U. Garay as the company's new CFO, starting in August. He will replace Mike McClellan, who will leave the Catalan company in September. Garay was previously CFO of Swedish pharmaceutical company Camurus.
Garay will join Almirante in August 2025, while McClellan will transition to the new CFO and leave Almirante in September. Garay, with more than 25 years of experience in the financial area, will report directly to Almirante's President and CEO, Carlos Gallardo, and will become a member of the management committee.
Josep Ginesta, ratified as Pimec's general secretary
The SME employers' association, Pimec, renewed its board just a few weeks ago, after Antoni Cañete was re-elected president of the institution for another four years.
