King Charles of England is hospitalized for side effects of cancer treatment.
The monarch is already at his residence after a "one-off" complication, but has postponed his schedule for this Friday.

BarcelonaKing Charles III of England has suspended activities for this Friday after having to be admitted to the hospital this Thursday to be treated by the side effects of ongoing cancer treatmentThe monarch has already returned to his residence at Clarence House, according to Buckingham Palace, which in a statement asserted that this was "a setback along the way."
The statement, reported by Reuters, explains that the admission followed medical treatment he received on Thursday morning, which caused side effects "requiring a short period of observation in the hospital." The monarch, diagnosed with an unspecified cancer in February 2024, was scheduled to receive credentials from the ambassadors of three countries yesterday afternoon, while today he was expected at four public events in Birmingham (central England), according to Buckingham sources.
After having traveled by vehicle to the London Clinic Hospital - where he had already been treated for his illness - Charles III is back in good shape at his residence, where he continued his office work and made some calls, Buckingham reported. His official visit to Italy, scheduled for ten days here, is still going ahead.
Despite his hospitalization on Thursday, Buckingham insists that this is a one-off event in his treatment and that his fight against cancer continues on track. After resuming his public schedule almost a year ago, the king has returned to full activity and this week has participated in various events, including a reception with regional media.
