BarcelonaThis Sunday, The far right could become established in Germany If the polls' predictions are correct, the whole of Europe will be watching closely, because the outcome of these federal elections will largely determine the politics of the continent. That is why German comedian Jan Böhmermann has given his opinion to the American newspaper The New York Times about the German country, which he describes as an inventor of long, complicated words and Nazis.

For this comedian, Germany's repeated - and increasingly empty - attempts to "remember" have ended up paving the way for an extremist resurgence, embodied in the rise of Alternative for Germany, which 1 in 5 voters intend to vote for. "We know who we are. We are Germans. We are cool and relaxed. We are very good at inventing very long words. Also inventing Nazis," says Jan Böhmermann, and explains why the rest of the world should be worried about this election: "The 'never again' came with an instruction manual."
