Jordi Domingo calls for combating disaffection to make the 2017 declaration of independence effective.

BarcelonaThree months after his election, Jordi Domingo finally presented the new government of the Council of the Republic. The people who will accompany him at the head of this institution come from different areas within the independence movement. They are the archaeologist Eudald Carbonell; the former rector of the Open University of Catalonia (UOC) Imma Tubella; the architect Marga Payola; the businessman Àlex Fenoll; the chemical engineer Montserrat Rossell; and Joan Passolas, a tourism specialist. A balanced and smaller executive compared to Carles Puigdemont's previous executive after the problems finding people that Domingo admitted in the ARA.
The president of the Council has called to combat disaffection in order to achieve independence. "Enough of shooting ourselves in the foot, enough of defeatism, the discouragement and the years of sucking our wounds are over. The time for resumption and victory has begun," he said in his speech. "We will not give up on making the 2017 declaration of independence effective; this is our political beacon of the A, of the former president of the Consell, Carles Puigdemont.
In this sense, Domingo stressed that the referendum of 1-O was "a great victory" because "the determination of the Catalan people was above the judges and the Spanish security forces" and the State "trembled for the first time." For this reason, he called for unity to move from "resignation and despair to hope" to complete what began in 2017. "Enough of whining and criticizing the parties and telling them that they only do autonomism and we join forces," he stated. Despite the nod to the political parties, Domingo has warned that they will have their own agenda and that the Consell will be "independent of the parties and their partisan policies."
