EU to open formal negotiations with UK over Gibraltar

The European Commission has urged the European Council to open talks with the United Kingdom to ratify the agreement that Madrid and London reached on Gibraltar at the end of last year, which makes the British territory another Schengen area, and which makes the fence a vestige of the history.
