Ebro presents the new S400, the hybrid SUV that aims to conquer the market.
Those from the Zona Franca present their flagship model, a high-performance urban hybrid vehicle, coinciding with the inauguration of Automobile Barcelona.

Ebro has unveiled the new S400 coinciding with the opening of Automobile Barcelona 2025. The Ebro S400 is a B-segment urban SUV that leverages the technological and mechanical foundation of the Tiggo 4, which Chery manufactures and markets in China. Chery will use the same strategy it already uses with the Ebro S700 and S800, manufacturing the vehicle's various parts in China and shipping them to Barcelona by sea. Finally, Ebro will assemble the components sent to its facilities in the Zona Franca (Free Trade Zone) and complete the vehicle's production phase.
The new S400 is an all-terrain vehicle measuring 4.32 meters long and 1.66 meters high, a model that addresses a market segment especially suited to and appreciated by European buyers. Ebro's urban SUV aims to be a great alternative to budget-priced urban models on the market, such as the Citroën C3 Aircross, MG ZS, or Dacia Duster. It also aims to position itself as a more powerful alternative with a better price-performance ratio to the Hyundai Kona, Toyota Corolla Cross, or Renault Captur with hybrid technology, among others.
The strong point of this Ebro S400 will be its price, at around 27,490 euros for the standard versions that are already equipped with dual-zone climate control, a digital instrument panel, 24 driver assistance systems, LED headlights, leatherette seats, and a panoramic roof.
Without going any further, it's worth remembering that the Ebro S400 will cost less than a Toyota Yaris Cross or a Renault Captur (two of its main conventional hybrid rivals), although its rivals offer power outputs of 130 hp, much less than the Ebro S400 promises in its spec sheet. The new S400 will use a mild hybrid engine that will allow it to boast its ECO label thanks to the combination of its 1.5-liter combustion gasoline engine with an electric motor, generating a maximum combined power of 211 hp. Ebro claims that the new S400 has an approved fuel consumption of approximately 5.5 l/100 km and acceleration from 0 to 100 km in 8.9 seconds, offering a seven-year or 150,000-kilometer mechanical warranty for its model.
This hybrid SUV uses front-wheel drive and comes standard with an automatic transmission, offering good rear-seat roominess and a 430-liter trunk capacity. However, it's clear to everyone that Ebro has decided to develop its new hybrid urban SUV following the lead of Toyota models, the market leaders in Catalonia and throughout Spain, and that a large part of the new brand's sales will depend on the successful commercialization of this S400.
The key to the reindustrialization of the brand
This new model should be the key to a return to work, allowing for increased workloads for operators and the return of a large portion of the workers from the former Nissan plant to the new Ebro Factory, thus advancing the commitments the manufacturer made at the negotiating table with the government.
