Gerard Romero brings the passion for Barça to TV3
The journalist premieres 'Fanzone' this Thursday, a sports show that will air after 'Polònia'
BarcelonaGerard Romero is one of the most popular sports journalists of recent years, thanks in part to the Twitch channel he started after leaving the sports department at RAC1. In the summer of 2024, he joined 3Cat with the premiere of the quiz show. Where's the money? and now it expands its presence on Catalan public television with FanzoneA show dedicated to Barça and sports that can be seen every Thursday on TV3 after the Poland and will be broadcast live. The new format, which will also be available on the platform, will debut tomorrow.
Fanzone It's designed as a grand spectacle and, therefore, will be broadcast live from the Foment Theatre in Molins de Rei. 3Cat describes it as "an entertainment program based on the week's sports news" and, while the central focus will be Barça, it will also cover other clubs such as Espanyol, Girona, Real Madrid, and the top Champions League teams, as well as other sports like basketball. Each episode will be structured around a major theme that will unfold throughout the program. In Romero's new format, guests will also play a significant role, coming from the world of sports, but also from other fields such as culture and society. As for the first episode, the first major guest will be Cata Coll, goalkeeper for Barça Women. Also in the sports arena, the program will connect with Iñigo Martínez, a Basque center-back who played for Barça and currently plays for Al-Nassr FC in the Saudi professional league. The other guest on the first show Fanzone It will be actress Diana Gómez, who is part of the cast of the series Vintage and who has participated in Netflix productions such as The Money Heist and ValeriaThe actress is a well-known Barcelona fan and will visit the program to share her passion for the Blaugrana team. In addition to interviews with guests, Fanzone It will also feature a discussion panel, characterized by a direct style.

One of the keys to Gerard Romero's success is his connection with the audience, and precisely for this reason, the audience will have a strong presence in the new program. According to 3Cat, the show will give a voice to both the audience in the Molins de Rei theater and those watching from home. To make the audience feel like a part of the program, close attention will be paid to the questions and reactions of those present, and various activities, polls, and proposals will be implemented through social media.
In this new television venture, Romero will be joined by a team that includes, among others, journalists Víctor Navarro and Patrícia Domínguez; the three members of the podcast Can Putades – Núria Simón, Ona Jou, and Joana Cabratosa; former La Masia-trained footballer Jean Marie Dongou; and comic book artist Arnau Garcia, who will interact with the audience. Music will be provided by Mon DJ.
3Cat asserts that this new format will allow them to connect with young audiences, who are accustomed to consuming sports information through social media and digital channels. The corporation describes the program, conceived by the production company Atomic Beat Media, as being responsible for The jungle, as "a format with a cross-cutting vocation" that has a current, close and attractive tone for all audiences who experience Barça and sport.
