BarcelonaThe Crown Prince of Iran in exile, Reza PahlaviOn Friday, he prophesied about the immediate future of his country. At a press conference in Washington, Pahlavi asserted that the current Islamic Republic has lost "all legitimacy" and that its fall is no longer a hypothesis, but a certainty that will occur "very soon." According to the resurgent opposition leader, the ayatollahs' regime does not act as a national government but as a foreign occupation that "wears clerical garb" and is in a state of utter desperation, acting like a "wounded animal" clinging to power through violence against its own citizens.

Pahlavi used his appearance to present a list of six urgent demands addressed to the international community, arguing that "the stability of the planet" depends on the end of the ayatollahs' regime. Instead of calling for direct military intervention, the prince demanded actions that would weaken the system's repressive capacity, such as attacking the command structures of the Revolutionary Guard and imposing maximum economic pressure.

He also urged world powers to provide satellite internet to break the information blockade, to expel Iranian diplomats from foreign capitals, to demand the release of all political prisoners, and to officially commit to recognizing a transitional government when the time is right.

Regarding his personal role in the hypothetical new future of the country, Reza Pahlavi pledged to return to Iran to lead the process of change and asserted that his position is uniquely positioned to guarantee a stable transition without power vacuums. He revealed the existence of a comprehensive plan developed with a team of experts and supported by business leaders to manage the first 100 days "after the fall of the regime."

This roadmap has the ultimate goal of holding free and fair elections under international observation and is based on four fundamental principles that, in its view, unite all Iranians: the territorial integrity of the country, the strict separation between religious authorities and the state, the guarantee of individual freedoms and the right of the people to choose democratically.

While the President of the United States, Donald Trump, decide whether to intervene or notIn the realm of international relations, Pahlavi made a direct appeal to him, describing him as a "man of his word" who would fulfill his promise to support the Iranian people. While remaining discreet about specific meetings with representatives of the US administration, he emphasized the strong alignment between the protesters' aspirations and the presumed support they receive from the White House.

Tehran's complaint

One of the most novel points of his speech was the proposal to sign the so-called Cyrus Accords, a pact to normalize relations with Israel that would follow the Abraham Accords model, with the aim of restoring peace and historical collaboration between both nations once democracy has been restored in Tehran.

While Pahlavi has outlined his plan in Washington, the Iranian government has attempted to counter the opposition narrative by distributing a 58-page dossier sent to the United Nations. In this document, the Tehran regime accuses the United States and Israel of inciting what it describes as "Islamic State-style violence," and blames protesters for attacks on banks, mosques, and ambulances.

However, these accusations contrast with data from human rights organizations, which report that Iranian security forces They have murdered more than 2,500 people in a brutal crackdown that the government is trying to conceal by maintaining a near-total internet blackout. Pahlavi concluded by warning that inaction in the face of this situation is "morally unbearable."
