Merz promises half a billion euros to rebuild infrastructure and improve defence

Germany's virtual new chancellor, conservative Friedrich Merz, has announced a plan to relax its borrowing capacity in order to increase spending on defense and rebuilding the country's infrastructure. Berlin will allocate half a billion euros from a fund created ad hoc to finance it.
