Which individuals and companies are the most delinquent with the Generalitat?

There are 58 individuals and legal entities that owe 152.9 million euros, 82% more than a year ago.

BarcelonaYosef Faradji is the most delinquent taxpayer with the Catalan Treasury, accumulating a debt of €52.3 million with the Generalitat (Catalan Government), according to the list published this Monday by the Department of Economy. No details are known about this taxpayer, except that he has the largest outstanding debt with the Catalan Treasury. In fact, it accounts for almost a third of the total. Among the companies on the list, the bingo hall PlayBadalona remains at the top of the list, with €9.3 million.

In total, this list—which includes taxpayers with outstanding debts exceeding €600,000 as of December 31—contains 58 individuals and legal entities, eight more than the previous year, and with a combined debt of €152.9 million. Specifically, an 82% increase.

According to this data, among the individuals are Adrià Camp Buendia, with 4.4 million; Jordi Dalmau Orriols, with 4.21 million; and Michel de Haro, with 3 million, who were not listed in the publication from a year ago. Anna Maria Borrell Marín, with 3.4 million, and Víctor Juan Fontfreda Puig, with 2.5 million, among others, also appear on the list. Among the companies, the water companies Rec Madral, with 7.9 million, and Riera Cabanyes Compañía de Aigües, with 8.1 million, also appear again.

The list published a year ago included 50 individuals and companies, with a debt that reached 83.8 million as of December 31, 2023. In that edition, the number of defaulters increased by 22% compared to the previous year, and the debt grew by 13.5%. The publication listed water, leisure and some real estate development companies as defaulters of the Catalan Tax Agency (ATC).

To appear on this list, which is published after On Friday the State Tax Agency will announce its, the debt will be €600,000 or more for own and assigned taxes, such as the property transfer and documented legal acts tax (ITPiAJD), wealth, inheritance and gift tax, gambling tax, and water fees. Those on the list have not settled their debts and penalties by December 31 of the previous year, nor should they be suspended or deferred.

Last year's list was headed by the bingo company PlayBadalona, ​​​​a company currently in liquidation and already acquired by another company, with €9.3 million; followed by the water company Rec Madral, with €7.9 million, and the related company Riera de Cabanyes, with €7.4 million. Among the individuals, Anna Maria Borrell Marín, dedicated to the hardware and real estate business, stood out with 3.3 million, and Montserrat Unanue Navarro, dedicated to rentals, with 3.2 million, who no longer appears on the 2024 list.
