There is already a date to book the Imserso trips
The pensioners of the Catalan Countries will be able to access the program starting on September 16 and 17
BarcelonaThis Tuesday, the Institute for the Elderly and Social Services (Imserso), attached to the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs and the 2030 Agenda, has announced that trips for the 2026-2027 season will begin to be marketed from September 14. However, throughout the Catalan Countries, access to their purchase will not be possible until September 16, the date on which reservations for preferred users will open. Catalans who do not have this accreditation will be able to access the program one day later, on September 17. It should be remembered that the condition of preferred or non-preferred accreditation is achieved after a scoring of applications, in accordance with the criteria set out in the program's regulatory order and the call resolution.
During this new season, the Ministry led by Pablo Bustinduy has maintained the two main innovations introduced a year ago. Firstly, a reduced fare so that pensioners with fewer resources can travel for only 50 euros, regardless of destination, with Imserso assuming the remaining cost of the trip. In total, 7,447 places have been reserved for those people who receive a benefit equal to or less than the amount of non-contributory pensions for incapacity or retirement from Social Security. In addition, a percentage of places have also been reserved so that users who wish can travel with their pets, both on trips to the peninsular coast and to the island coast.
879,213 places
By territories, on September 14, the marketing of trips to Andalusia, Aragon, Castile and Leon, Extremadura, Galicia, Madrid, Melilla, Navarre, and La Rioja will begin for preferred users and on September 15 for non-preferred users. Whereas in Catalonia, Valencian Community, Balearic Islands, Asturias, Castile-La Mancha, Ceuta, Canary Islands, Cantabria, Murcia, and Basque Country, the program will open from September 16 for preferred users and one day later, on the 17th, for non-preferred users. In total, this year Imserso offers 879,213 places, of which 440,284 (50.1%) will be allocated to peninsular coastal tourism and 228,142 (25.9%) will be for trips to island coasts. The rest of the offer (210,787 places, 23.9%) will be allocated to getaway tourism.
Imserso recalls that each province is assigned a number of available trips to each of the destinations in proportion to the number of residents and registered people over 65 years of age. During the first days of marketing, from September 14 to 18, applicants can only book trips available within their provincial quota, with the aim of staggering sales to avoid potential overloading of the travel reservation centers of the contracting companies and thus ensure their proper functioning. Subsequently, from September 19, the possibility of booking trips that have not been marketed from any province is opened. However, the marketing process remains open throughout the season.
