Trump nominates a protectionist for the vacancy on the Fed's Board of Governors

Donald Trump has appointed Stephen Miran to temporarily fill the vacancy on the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. Miran is one of the masterminds behind Trump's tariffs. If the Senate confirms him, the president will gain another ally within the Fed in lowering interest rates.
