BarcelonaThe Respon.cat Awards have recognized Anna Sorli, president of Sorli Supermarkets, for her long-standing commitment to corporate social responsibility. These awards, given to Catalan companies with the most outstanding corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategies, are now in their tenth year, having recognized more than seventy-two companies and individuals since 2015. At an event held this Tuesday at the Llotja de Mar in Barcelona, the awards highlighted the company's business model and its role as a driver of change for a fairer and more sustainable future. In addition to the Sorli president, Manresa was also recognized as a socially responsible region. "The three hundred business leaders in attendance are a testament to the progress that has been taking place for years," the awards stated. “Many Catalan companies are adopting a more ambitious purpose,” the awards organizers stated. They also applauded their alignment with the values of the Manifesto for a Purpose-Driven Economy, an initiative launched by Respon.cat in 2023 with the support of the Catalan business community. The list of award winners also included Fluidra (Sant Cugat), as a larger company, and Pensium (Barcelona), as an SME, for their track record of commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Henkel (Barcelona), Epson (Sant Cugat), and Ampans (Manresa) were recognized for their best practices in volunteering, environmental collaboration, and work-life balance reform. This year, two new awards were added: one for community commitment and partnerships, for La Unió (Barcelona), and another for sustainable innovation, for Leitat (Terrassa). As the awards organizers point out, it is noteworthy that La Unió concludes its 50th anniversary celebrations while Leitat begins its 120th anniversary celebrations.
