BarcelonaThe now traditional Pimec awards gala brought together more than a thousand attendees at the Palau Sant Jordi this Thursday night, including business leaders, politicians, and representatives of social and economic stakeholders. Oliu, who was present at the dinner, Cañete asserted that "this operation not only affects competition and access to credit, but also has a social impact." "Losing Sabadell is losing a national player," he lamented. "Not like this!" Cañete repeated regarding the reduction of working hours to 37.5 hours, in a crusade shared with all Catalan business associations: "We would all like to work less and earn more, but the debate must be approached realistically. The Pimec Awards are presented by the organization in recognition of the best business initiatives developed in Catalonia that highlight the contribution of SMEs to social, economic, and sustainable development. In this 38th edition, the jury awarded entrepreneur Bibiana Muré, of the women's clothing store Marigel, the CaixaBank-Fundación Pimec Second Business Opportunity Award; the Cadí Cooperative, the Catalan Business Projection Award; the Escuder company, dedicated to the wholesale of raw materials for the cosmetics, food, and pharmaceutical sectors; and Funbrain, the Linguistic Quality Award.
Likewise, the Pymes Plus award went to Amancio López, president of the Hotusa Group. Among the awards for the most competitive SMEs, the winners were Pymelegal (micro-SME), CA Sports Marketing (small business), and Skin Tech Pharma Group (medium-sized business). Finally, recognition for corporate activism went to the Locksmiths' Guild, the Association of Doctors in Private Healthcare (AMAPRI), and the Association of Catalan Water Rescue Companies (AECSA).
