BarcelonaHipra broke its business record in 2025. The Girona-based pharmaceutical company invoiced 516 million euros last year, its all-time high, and it is the first time it has exceeded 500 million in revenue in more than five decades of history. This represents an increase of 17% compared to the figures for 2024, in line with the company's aspirations to "grow above the market". On these sales, Hipra has achieved a profit close to 54 million euros, and has managed to reduce its debt to 145.5 million.

The company's debt is thus practically in line with operating profit, after confirming an EBITDA – earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization – of 125.2 million. Last year's results, in the words of Hipra's Chief Financial Officer, David Maldonado, "reaffirm the model based on prevention and innovation" that the company has carried out during its more than 50 years of activity. The business outlook is eminently international, with 85% of turnover coming from outside Spain.

The engine of the company's business is the veterinary health division, Hipra's foundational business line, which closed 2025 with a turnover of 490 million euros, 14% more than the previous year. The animal business is even more international than the company as a whole, with 88% of sales outside Spain. According to the area's general manager, David Caballero, 2025 has been an "excellent" year, which has consolidated the Catalan company among the big names in the international veterinary industry. Hipra, in fact, has increased its market share in the industry to 7.4% globally.

Human health and investments

On the other hand, the animal health segment, inaugurated during the pandemic following the development of the covid-19 vaccine, has "achieved new milestones in the consolidation process". During 2025, Hipra has closed a joint acquisition agreement with the European Commission, which has led up to nine countries in the union to purchase vaccine doses, with Spain at the forefront.

It has also accelerated two projects to contribute to European strategic autonomy in medicines: Speedcell, dedicated to accelerating the development of biological products, and Hipra Biotech Services, a unit dedicated to providing other companies with development and manufacturing services in local facilities.

The record in the balance sheet has coincided with the inauguration of the pharmaceutical company's new space, Campus Hipra, located in the Girona town of Aiguaviva, and which serves to complement the activity carried out at the company's headquarters in Amer. The company expects to dedicate a total investment of 550 million euros to it, of which about 170 million have been executed so far. In total, Hipra closed 2025 with a total investment of 93 million euros, of which about 62 million were dedicated to research and development projects. Since 2019, the Catalan pharmaceutical company has mobilized around 400 million euros in investments.
