Elon Musk proposes that Spain's open spaces become a large solar power plant to supply Europe.

The founder of SpaceX argues in Davos that the technology already exists and all that is needed is the will to put it into action

This Wednesday, during the World Economic Forum in DavosElon Musk has asserted that a large solar power plant located in sparsely populated areas of Spain or Sicily could generate enough energy to power all of Europe. According to the entrepreneur, the necessary facilities are technologically feasible and simply need to be implemented. Musk cited China as an example, where solar plants already produce 540 gigawatts (GW) annually.

During his speech, the SpaceX founder also addressed the future of humanoid robots, which he plans to begin marketing for domestic use by the end of next year. According to Musk, these robots will be safe and reliable and could play a key role in caring for the elderly and dependent individuals, in a context of a progressively aging population and labor shortages. "Everyone will want one," he asserted. Regarding artificial intelligence, Musk reiterated that by 2030 or 2031 it will be more intelligent than any human being, although he emphasized that this will not make people obsolete. He also reflected on the limits of human aging—which he believes can one day be slowed—the possibility of extraterrestrial life, and his goal of traveling to Mars, a journey he acknowledged is still long and risky.
