Ebro considers the hiring of former Nissan employees complete.

The company has ended up incorporating 842 of the 1,250 workers laid off by the Japanese brand.

Ebro's president, Rafael Ruiz, has signed the document confirming compliance with the agreement, along with other company executives and representatives from the USOC, CCOO, UGT, and CGT unions. This document stipulated that Ebro would hire 1,250 employees affected by Nissan's workforce reduction plan (ERE), of whom 842 ultimately ended up working at Ebro. While the new project in the Zona Franca industrial park was not yet operational, the remaining laid-off workers who became unemployed either found other jobs or declined the offers made by Ebro, according to the company.

"We have fulfilled our agreement to recover the lost jobs. This was our main objective from the beginning, and we have achieved it. Our reindustrialization and automotive project in Barcelona, ​​Catalonia, and Spain is to continue gaining momentum, growing, and, in this endeavor, generating new job opportunities and quality employment," Ruiz stated in a press release.

The incorporation of the workers from the former Nissan began before Ebro started Production at the Free Trade Zone facilities in November of last yearInitially, the company offered retraining contracts for over 600 workers. Currently, the automotive firm employs a thousand people.
