BarcelonaCondis has become Menorcanized. The company landed on the blue and white island a month ago after the National Commission of Markets and Competition (CNMC) authorized the acquisition of Dispreu Logística, the manager of the Binipreu supermarket chain in Menorca. With this operation, the company based in Montcada i Reixac will take control of the eight establishments that Binipreu has in Menorca: three in Maó; two in Es Castell; one in Alaior, one in Es Migjorn Gran, and another in Ferreries, as well as two logistics platforms in Maó and Alaior. In addition, the purchase also includes Binipreu Menorca, the island's main commercial space, with approximately 21,000 square meters, near the airport, and consisting of three floors and more than 300 free parking spaces.

These first weeks "have been marked by the desire to ensure an orderly transition, listening to the teams, suppliers, and customers, and guaranteeing the continuity of a commercial model deeply rooted in Menorca", according to company sources. Condis intends to maintain the brand, deeply rooted in the territory, as well as the jobs. From the outset, the objective has been to preserve what has made Binipreu "a benchmark brand for many Menorcan families: proximity, knowledge of the territory, and commitment to local producers and suppliers".

Following its proximity trade strategy, Condis has launched the slogan "Binipreu remains Binipreu". In this way, it is now beginning a new phase aimed at strengthening the brand's positioning and highlighting its main differentiating attributes. "This strategy will place special emphasis on price competitiveness, the promotion of offers, the quality and breadth of the assortment, and, especially, Binipreu's link with Menorca", according to the same sources.

In this regard, local products will continue to play a prominent role in the stores in Menorca, "with the aim of contributing to the development of the local economy and offering customers a commercial proposal that reflects the island's identity and particularities". All this "will materialize progressively over the coming months through various communication and commercial revitalization actions, always maintaining the essence that has characterized Binipreu throughout its trajectory".

Proximity and respect for local brands

The sale and purchase, coordinated by CS Corporate Advisors, culminated the initial agreement announced a few months ago, the price of which was not disclosed. Furthermore, it consolidates the entry of the Condis Group onto the island of Menorca. Once the purchase was approved by the CNMC, Manel Romero, CEO of Condis, highlighted that "this operation responds to a growth strategy based on proximity, respect for local brands, and the desire to combine capabilities for the benefit of the territory's customers, teams, and suppliers".
