Christmas, La Diada and May 1st, on a Saturday: these will be the holidays in 2027

BarcelonaThe Generalitat has published the 2027 labor calendar, marked by Christmas and May 1st falling on a Saturday, as the Catalan executive reported this Wednesday in a statement. In total there will be 12 holidays in addition to Sundays.

Thus, next year will begin with the New Year's holiday, January 1, 2027, which will be a Friday, followed by the Epiphany (January 6), a Wednesday. In 2027, Easter will be celebrated especially early, with Good Friday and Easter Monday holidays on March 26 and 29, respectively.

The other spring holiday, May 1st, will fall on a Saturday, as will the National Day (September 11), at the end of summer. Also in summer, Saint John's Day (June 24) will allow for a longer break, as it falls on a Thursday, but the traditional August 15 holiday for the Assumption of the Virgin is left out, as it will be a Sunday.

In autumn, the Day of the Pilar or Hispanic Day (October 12) will be a Tuesday, and All Saints' Day (November 1) a Monday. Likewise, the long weekend of Constitution Day (December 6) and La Purísima (December 8) will be especially favorable for workers who want to take five days off, as they will fall on a Monday and Wednesday, respectively.

Finally, Christmas Day (December 25) will fall on a Saturday, leaving Saint Stephen's Day (December 26) outside the special holiday calendar for 2027, as it will already be a Sunday.

Furthermore, the Generalitat designates Thursday, June 17 (Aran Day) as a holiday in the Vall d'Aran, instead of Easter Monday.
