BonÀrea exceeds €102M in profit in 2025, 15.6% more than the previous year
Billing grows 5.4% and reaches a record of 2,826 million
BarcelonaThe Catalan agri-food company BonÀrea closed 2025 with a record turnover of 2,826 million euros, 5.4% more than the previous year, and a net profit of 102.69 million euros, 15.6% higher, as the company reported this Tuesday. With this figure, the company exceeds the barrier of 100 million euros in net result for the first time in its history.
Despite the volatile environment in international markets, the company, which integrates the entire process from the field to the store, has shown the "solidity of its unique model of vertical integration without intermediaries", according to the company, which allows it to directly manage the entire process, from agricultural and livestock production to processing, logistics, and final sale.
The CEO of BonÀrea Corporació, Ramon Alsina, stated: “In a global scenario that continues to be challenging, the 2025 financial year has once again highlighted the solidity of our business model, which allows us to manage the entire value chain, gain efficiency, and offer quality products at the best price”.
By business areas, human food has been one of the main growth drivers for the group during the financial year, with positive performance in both sales and volume. This division has sold 477 million kilos of product, 1.74% more, and achieved sales of 1,634 million euros, a figure that represents an increase of 6.74% compared to the previous year. Likewise, the Food Service channel, aimed at hotels, restaurants, and other professional sectors, also registered positive performance, with 16% growth.
The animal feed division closed the year with a turnover of 477 million euros and a production of 1,387 million tons, 3.5% more than during the previous financial year. This performance is due to the increase in sales, the optimization of raw material costs, and the improvement of the operational efficiency of the transport fleet.
Regarding the animal health and agricultural services line, turnover stood at 28.2 million euros, 24.1% more than the previous year, driven by the commissioning of new facilities at the BonÀrea Food Center in Epila, in Aragon, and by the positive performance of sales in seeds and fertilizers.
Finally, the engineering and energy area, which manages the network of 66 service stations, has contributed 652 million euros to global turnover, 5.5% more than the previous year. The volume of fuel distributed during the fiscal year stood at 575 million liters, 10.3% more than in 2024.
Investments and employment
During 2025, BonÀrea Corporació created 193 new jobs and finished the year with a workforce of 6,611 employees. Furthermore, the company's own integration model is based on a network of over 4,500 farmers and ranchers, who form the backbone of its production system. With an executed investment of 113.45 million euros, reinvestment has been consolidated as one of the key pillars of its business model. The main efforts this fiscal year have been dedicated to the progress of the works at the Épila food center, the improvement and optimization of the La Closa complex in Guissona, and the continuous strengthening of the commercial structure at a national level.
In 2025, BonÀrea reached 612 operational points of sale by the end of the year. During this period, a total of 37 openings were carried out, which led to the incorporation of over 9,200 square meters of new commercial space. Throughout the year, the establishments as a whole registered sales of 1,301 million euros, 5.24% more than in 2024, of which 81% corresponded to own-brand products.
Looking ahead to 2026, the company plans 20 inaugurations and 19 relocations or expansions, which will add approximately 7,000 more square meters. A commercial rollout that combines strengthening in large urban centers with the company's historical presence in small municipalities and rural areas.
BonÀrea Cooperativa, specializing in the breeding and fattening of poultry and livestock, closed 2025 with a turnover of 360 million euros, 10.93% more than the previous year. This growth also translated into improved profitability, with a net profit of 6.56 million euros, 28.37% more than in 2024. The cooperative achieved these results with a workforce of 212 employees and a social base of 11,614 members. Regarding investments, 12.14 million euros were allocated to competitive improvement, with a special focus on the technological upgrade of facilities for pork, poultry, and nuts.
