The Vila Casas Foundation opens 'a new door to art'

The institution is promoting a new cycle of activities to bring contemporary art closer to all audiences.

The works are distributed throughout the rooms of Can Framis due to the formal affinity that exists between them.

BarcelonaThe Vila Casas Foundation wants to reach even more people, and starting this Friday it is promoting A new door to art, a new series of activities that will take place one Friday a month until November. The series begins this Friday at 5 p.m. at the Can Framis Museum in Barcelona with a yoga and meditation session led by Mysteria, and a screening of the documentary about urban art in Barcelona.BCN rise & fall (with the collaboration of the Mecal festival) and the performance Floor Skin Wall, led by Anxe Faraldo and Haize Lizarazu. There will also be a yoga and creativity session by Sansyoga and a Playmodes workshop, where adults and children can discover and familiarize themselves with an audiovisual instrument: the sonograph. The day will conclude with a live podcast by Gent de Merda and concerts by Alosa and Gregotechno. "This initiative was born from the conviction that art is a universal heritage and a powerful tool to connect us with the world around us, reflect on society, and enrich our daily lives," say sources from the foundation. Admission for each day is €10 (€5 for reduced-price tickets), except for admission on July 18, which will be free.

With this series, the Vila Casas Foundation aims to "break down barriers and facilitate access to contemporary art" with activities in which contemporary art is connected to other disciplines. During the event, visitors will be able to explore the Vila Casas Foundation's painting collection and temporary exhibitions from a different perspective. The program will continue with a day dedicated to art and music (June 20), which will include a discussion on Sound sources and fantastic universes, with participants such as Clara Aguilar and Lolo & Sosaku, and a concert by Núria Graham. The July 18th event will be dedicated to art and film. Digital arts: new codes, new challenges, an immersive experience with virtual reality glasses and other multisensory glasses, Air Parfum.

Next, on October 24th, the art and wellness day will be held, which will include a guided tour of the foundation's permanent collection entitled Art as a tool for health and well-being, the projection of the video A look at rare diseases and an artistic meditation practice. Finally, the closing day, which will take place on November 28, will include a guided tour of Can Framis' permanent collection and a live podcast with an overview of the series' activities and the presentation of the 2026 season. And to close the evening, Magalí Datzira will give a concert.
