But beyond the quintessential classics, programmers are filling professional theaters with engaging shows for children. From the new Mic show to classics like The Little Prince From the Raluy circus to the Ateneu Popular 9 Barris, these are the most enticing productions to visit the theaters during the Christmas holidays.
Sant Andreu Teatre

SX3's most beloved puppet takes to the stage at the Sant Andreu Teatre this Christmas with a tender and surprising story about a letter. Winter Circus of the Popular Athenaeum 9 Barris

The company Els Escarlata, a pioneer of contemporary circus in Catalonia, has created this show specifically to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Winter Circus at the Ateneu Popular de 9 Barris. Clowns, tightrope walkers, and acrobats work together to construct a stage universe that draws inspiration from plants and gardens to celebrate nature's ability to emerge from the most inhospitable places.

The Raluy Historical Circus sets up in Port Vell with its iconic tent and a new show: LandAcrobats on a teeterboard, trapeze artists, clowns, and dancers join the circus ring in a production the company describes as "a visual poem" to speak "of the world that breathes, moves, and evolves." A must-see for lovers of traditional circus, crafted with care and emphasizing the close connection with the audience.

The Catalan production company Nostromo Live presents the world premiere of a large-scale, immersive theater production that brings together the most iconic characters from the Geronimo Stilton books, live and in person. Audiences will experience interactive scenery, spectacular visuals, and original music in a theatrical adventure for the whole family through the Kingdom of Fantasy, set in a space of over 1,200 square meters.

Diana Pla directs El Petit Circ Laret, a street circus show produced by the L'Hospitalet City Council that pays tribute to the clown Claret Papiol, who died in 2025 and was Tortell Poltrona's partner with the Poltrona Brothers. Circ Laret is a once-grand, family-run circus that maintains the spirit of a great, dedicated circus. Each year, the Mercat de les Flors selects a handful of exceptional shows, all of them unmissable. Roser López Espinosa is behind this German production by Lowland, in which a cosmonaut travels to uncharted space and explores the force of gravity, the possibilities of movement, and the power of empathy. Geometry, play, and the speed of light are ingredients of this solo performance that aims to spark the audience's curiosity.

It's always a good time to return to one of the venues that never disappoints, La Puntual, Barcelona's local puppet theater. During the Christmas season, they're giving a puppet concert featuring the Three Little Pigs, and from January 2nd to 11th, the master puppeteer Eugenio Navarro will be premiering... Loop, a wordless puppet show that plays with the darkness and light of objects.
